Essential Italian

This fully integrated introductory Italian program—perfect for two-semester courses or courses with fewer contact hours—focuses on the essentials of Italian language and culture. Salve! offers students an interactive approach to language learning that uses a “building block” method to help students quickly understand both dialogue and narrative. Author Carla Larese Riga approaches the structures of the language inductively—without compromising the authenticity  of the language—by recycling essential vocabulary throughout each chapter and creating activities that invite students to express themselves in real-life contexts.

Throughout the text, easy-to-follow, concise presentations of essential grammar are grouped in a logical manner and are interwoven with photos, realia, and other related cultural information, allowing students to understand grammar within a meaningful cultural context.
